2025 An Inspiring Home Projects Recap
One question I get asked: “How do you name your projects?”
Our answer is simple: each home we design deserves its own identity and story, and we take a unique approach.
At An Inspiring Home, every project is designed to meet our clients’ needs, lifestyle, and personal style. When you work with us, you’re not just hiring a designer — you’re bringing on a professional team dedicated to transforming your home into a cozy, functional, beautiful space that reflects you.
Each name reflects the design's personality, the scope of work, and the experience our clients wanted when they walk into their refreshed home.
This year, we completed five wonderfully unique renovation projects:
- More Fun Than Fancy
- Tailored Transitional
- Cozy Chic Bungalow
- Riding the Blue Wave
- Modern Fairway Views
1. More Fun Than Fancy
In this project, we planned and designed the renovation with our client’s wish in mind: “Make it more fun than fancy.” We loved this request so much that we decided to name the project after it. My client’s goal was to make their home feel cozy and not fussy.
Our plan was to create a vibrant home by updating its look and functionality for years to come. Our clients specifically requested that we create a light environment and brighten their space to make it more inviting for entertaining their family and friends.
The kitchen, laundry, and bathrooms underwent complete renovations, incorporating modern layouts, high-end materials, and functional upgrades.
The
result is a cohesive, comfortable environment that invites you to slow down, stay, and relax.
2. Tailored Transitional
For this project, we decided to prioritize the transitional style as the primary focus of our design, which my clients preferred. However, since there are thousands of ways to do transitional, we wanted to create something unique to their needs and lifestyle.
One of the main challenges we encountered was that this space was outdated and dark. Our client's request was something lighter, warm, and inviting.
Our approach was to increase the lighting. We provided a lighter, neutral paint color, updated lighting with a more modern vibe, new kitchen finishes, and new furnishings for the breakfast nook and family room as a solution.
I love how it turned out, and you can check all the small details here.
3. Cozy Chic Bungalow
Our main goal in this project
was to create a comfy and finished space. Many of our clients reach out to tell us
they want a home that feels like their own, something truly unique. In this project,
our goal was clear: to deliver a cohesive design.
In Interior Design, the magic is in the details, and we added soft touches that also make a statement. We added new furnishings to bring comfort and character, installed wallpaper for depth & texture, and gave our client her cherished heirloom accent tables new life through refinishing.
The result is a home that now feels like my client: cozy, chic, polished, and complete.
4. Riding the Blue Wave
This kitchen was in desperate need of a makeover. To sum it up, it was stuck in the 90s. It was dark, didn’t have enough space, and needed lighting. We increased storage by extending the cabinetry to the breakfast nook and adding smaller cabinets along the top.
We selected this blue cabinetry for a wow factor, and to keep it functional, we included under-cabinet lighting to brighten the space as needed.
Other details that we love are the white tile backsplash, quartz countertops and polished nickel hardware and light fixtures.
I love how it looks so inviting! Now, this kitchen is ready for some holiday cooking and entertaining.
5. Modern Fairway Views, Part 1
Last but not least, our Modern Fairway Views was perhaps our biggest project yet
We renovated several rooms in this home. While we wanted to strike a balance, we also wanted to give each space a unique touch, so in our design plan,
we included more fun and unique elements and elevated the home to be inviting and cozy as well as the perfect spot for entertaining.
We split this project reveal into two parts since we completed many rooms in this home. All the details of this renovation are in this blog post, but let me highlight my top 3 favorites for the first part:
The Powder Bathroom
I believe the powder room is the ideal space to make a bold statement. You want a space that’s inviting to your guests, useful, and reflects your personality. For a wow factor in this project, we included this geometric wallpaper that creates a dramatic vibe in this small yet mighty space.
The Kitchen
This space underwent a major transformation. I loved renovating this room because my clients dreamed of a large island for storage and seating several guests at parties, and we made that happen. We also removed the fireplace on the kitchen side and installed a statement art piece over a wood-paneled wall, creating a clean, inviting look.
The Dining Room
One of the challenges we faced in this room is that it is connected to the living room,
so we wanted to give this space a unique look and ensure it flowed naturally. We used navy-and-gold wallpaper on the ceiling, making the room feel intimate and special without darkening the entire space. This detail softens the whole room design and transforms it into a cozy spot. I love all the different elements and materials we used here. Go read about it in the blog post!
Lessons From a Full Year of Renovations and Design
Every project teaches us something new, and after completing five beautiful renovations this year, a few aspects stood out that truly make a difference.
1. Planning Ahead is Everything.
A successful renovation starts with planning. When we plan early and allow time for selections, inspiration, sourcing, and contractor selection, the project runs more smoothly, stress remains low, and the final result exceeds expectations.
2. A Clear Design Direction Keeps the Project Grounded.
Before any paint color or tile is selected, we take the time to understand your vision. Having a defined direction not only guides every decision but also prevents costly mistakes and ensures the home feels cohesive.
3. Communication is Everything.
When communication stays open, transparent, and consistent, the project stays on track. This year reinforced just how essential it is to have someone in your corner managing the details.
4. The Right Team Saves Time, Money, And Stress.
Bringing in your designer early allows us to make informed decisions, coordinate with contractors, and avoid budget surprises. When everyone is aligned, the experience becomes more enjoyable, and the results speak for themselves.
5. Design is About Creating Spaces That Support Your Lifestyle.
Our main goal is to provide you with a home that is functional and truly yours.
We achieve this by making intentional design choices that make your home feel complete, warm, and personal.
