The Best Window Treatments For Every Room
Unlike store-bought drapes or shades,
customized window treatments are designed to fit your space and room’s design, providing the right balance of functionality and style. They go beyond covering your windows, and provide you with plenty of benefits for your space, including:
- Perfect fit every time: These treatments are made to your exact window measurements, so you don’t have to worry about having short panels or gaps, just a personalized look that complements your space.
- Functionality: Each room has different needs, such as privacy for bathrooms, blackout function for bedrooms, light-filtering options for your living room, etc. So, with customized window treatments, you get to choose the option that is both practical and functional for your lifestyle.
- Durability: Custom window treatments are made with quality materials that last longer than the off-the-shelf options. In the end, you’re investing in a piece that will stand the test of time, so you won’t have to worry about replacing it for years.
- Cohesive Look: Adding customized window treatments
makes your home feel complete. You can combine similar fabrics and finishes in different rooms to have a unified look in your home.

So what’s the best way to dress up every room? Here’s a quick summary you can use to choose the best ones:
- Living Room or Family Room
- Best Choice: Drapery panels, or Roman shades
- Why: The living room serves multiple purposes, like hanging out, relaxing, or entertaining, so you want an option that highlights beauty and flexibility. Drapery adds softness and a finished look, while shades give you light control.
- Bathroom
- Best Choice: Functioning Roman shade or a cafe curtain
- Why:
For this room, privacy is the priority, and adding Roman shades can soften the space, while a cafe curtain offers privacy as well as letting in natural light.
- Bedroom
- Best Choice: Blackout drapery or Roman shades
- Why: The priority here is light control, so a blackout drapery paired provides both function and a cozy, layered aesthetic.
- Kitchen
- Best choice: Roman shades or woven woods
- Why: In a space where you cook and gather, you need practicality without sacrificing style. Roman shades are easy to use, add texture, and don’t overwhelm the space. Woven woods bring warmth and a natural feel.
With all these options, let’s explore a couple of examples of how we took our clients' needs and added the right treatment for their space.
Cozy Family Sanctuary
For this family room,
our clients were looking for a window treatment that wouldn’t cover the entire window but would still filter some of the light coming in from the top. We designed a faux Roman shade with a beautiful decorative tape, which adds just the right touch of softness and detail without overwhelming the window.
Warm and Timeless Traditional
In this bathroom, our client needed privacy, so we helped them select a functional Roman shade that beautifully complements her finishes. The shade not only provides the privacy she was looking for but also adds texture and softness to the space.
In the bedroom, we carried the same Roman shade through for both light control and privacy, then layered drapery panels on either side. These panels introduce an extra layer of softness and texture, while also elevating the overall look of the room.
Revere Pewter and Dreamy Kitchen
Our client’s family room featured a stunning wall of windows overlooking their beautiful backyard. To enhance the space, we wanted to soften the look of the windows and introduce a touch of color—without taking away from the view. The solution? Four elegant drapery panels in a rich medium blue that perfectly complement the rug and other accessories, tying the room together with warmth and style.
In the kitchen,
our client wanted something simple to add softness and texture without overwhelming the space. We selected a neutral fabric to create a custom Roman shade, which brings just the right amount of warmth and dimension to their newly renovated kitchen.
Dreamy Tween Bedroom
For this teen girl’s bedroom, the goal was to lighten, brighten, and modernize the space while also adding a sense of height. Custom drapery was the perfect solution. We selected a crisp white fabric that not only elongates the room but also adds a fresh, airy feel to the overall design.
In the end, when it comes to finishing a space, custom window treatments make all the difference. With endless options to choose from—fabrics, styles, trims, and hardware—we can tailor every detail to reflect your unique style.
Beyond aesthetics, custom pieces are designed to fit your windows perfectly, ensuring both function and beauty. The quality is unmatched compared to ready-made options, offering durability and craftsmanship that lasts. Most importantly, custom treatments add that final layer of softness, polish, and personality that truly make a room feel complete.
