Warm and Cozy Home Office
January 9, 2020

My client is a health coach and recently moved into a newly built home. Since she works from home, she asked for a space that not only she would love, but also one for her clients to feel comfortable. Let’s look at this warm and cozy home office.

First, of all, I love working with a blank slate! Here’s a before view.

For style, my client wanted a minimal, vintage farmhouse look. This room also needed to feel warm and comfortable for her clients when having a conversation. Storage was also a necessity, and I love the vintage feel to these bookcases.

Warm colors are my client’s favorite, particularly greens and browns. The cozy shag rug adds great texture.

One small challenge when designing this space is an infrared sauna. It was going to be placed in the room along a wall closest to the window, and I had to make sure a rug would work with the furniture layout without interfering with the sauna.

Here’s a closer look at the conversation area.

Take a closer look at some of the details. I love the vintage detail on the side table as well as the bookcase doors. The drapes are a tweed-like linen fabric and add another great texture to the space.

You can also read about this design plan and see the design board I put together for my client. Also, click here to see some inspiration photos for designing this office.

The farmhouse style desk, vintage style bookcases, rug, drapes, and plants all contribute to the warm and cozy home office.

Thank you for visiting! I’ll be working on this client’s living room, kitchen and breakfast areas next!
