Do you have a television? I imagine everyone does. Is it just sitting on a tv stand or mounted to the wall or something else? Today, I’m showing you ways you can decorate around your TV.
Why would you want to decorate around your TV? Well, that big, black box isn’t exactly the most attractive thing you want to see when you walk into a room, and it can be a little over-powering.
TVs have come a long way. You can even buy ones that look like a piece of art hanging on the wall. I’ll take one, please! This is an especially great idea if you’re hanging it above the fireplace. Beautiful yet pricey!
There are other ways to incorporate that television into your home décor or even a wall design. Let’s take a look at some.
BUILT-INS
This would be so awesome! I love anything built into the wall, so a modern display like this is going on my wish list for one day.

GALLERY WALL
I love to add a gallery of frames around the TV. These can be family pictures, since the television is most likely in a family room, or artwork is great too. I love this look by Zdesign – very clean and modern.
Notice the balance of frames along the top, the lamp on the one side and the tree on the other side. A beautiful display!
This one by Driven by Décor is a showstopper. Those large frames really make a big impact.
I like how the images are all different, but there’s continuity in the frames and the black and white art.
You can also keep it simple by just a couple of frames on either side. Just be sure that the frames aren’t too small. Notice the chair on one side and a basket on the other.
ADD A SHELF
Another idea is to add a shelf above the TV, and use that for display as well. Here, I’ve added the shelf above, and then set the television off center so that I can display 2 framed pieces of art on the left side. This works great for an open 2-story room.
The basket on the right hides some cords from view while the chair on the left adds balance to the design. I like to rotate the accessories according to season here. Notice the mix of accessories on the shelf – art, vase, sculpture, & plant.
