There’s nothing better than having time for relaxing or unwinding after a long day at work. Sometimes a hot and relaxing shower or a nice bubble bath is all we need to regroup.
A Bathroom Remodel is one of the best decisions you can make to update your home. It will uplift the look of your home and become an inviting space for self-care. In this blog post, I want to walk you through one of my recently finished projects, a Classic and Timeless White Bathroom. So if you’re ready to get inspired, keep on reading!

Your starting point.
A great remodel project starts with a great plan. Your remodel will succeed if you have professional help guiding you through the process.
In your plan, you must include your why. For example, why are you renovating your bathroom, what’s the main goal, and how will you achieve it? This goal will help you follow through and make the best decisions according to your design style.
Of course, there can be several reasons why you decide to update your bathroom. Still, some of the most common and important reasons are:
- When there’s a safety improvement. Humid environments attract mold and mildew and this is what you want to avoid. These issues can be hazardous to your health. Another hazard can be slippery tile that you'll want to address right away to prevent any falls.
- Plumbing issues. If you are having constant problems with your plumbing and you’re constantly investing in repairs, perhaps it's time to renovate your space. You’ll eventually save money and invest in a renovated look that you’ll love and enjoy.
- Upgraded look. Your home should reflect your lifestyle and personality. If a room isn’t making you happy, it’s time to update it. One tip I love to give to my clients is to create a consistent flow from room to room and connect them in the same project. As a result, you’ll have a cohesive look and feel more comfortable in your home.
Of course, there are many more reasons to update your bathroom,
so use this helpful checklist to have an idea of what you want vs. what you need in your remodel project:

Classic White Bathroom Remodel.
The color white creates a timeless, fresh, and bright look that emanates peace and calm. My client wanted a place to relax and decompress, so going for a white palette in their new bathroom was the best option. They felt the room was outdated and wanted to balance it with the rest of the rooms. We made significant changes in specific areas that didn’t involve much construction but did change the look altogether.

Cabinetry

The cabinetry was the focal point of this bathroom. Since the cabinetry was in great condition we painted it white, and it changed completely! The metallic hardware chosen made the cabinetry look brand new and modern. We went from outdated and dark beige to modern bright white!
I always say paint gives you the biggest bang for your buck. If you’re looking for guidance, learn

Lighting

As I mentioned in my previous post, lighting can make or break a design project. For the bathroom vanity tiles, we chose round modern ones, which added to the timeless look.
A great tip to consider is adding different layers of lighting to a space. In this project, we had three different ones: the recessed from the shower, the round modern ones for the vanity, and the mini chandelier over the tub. This chandelier added that luxurious touch to this bathroom.

Mirrors & fixtures
We used polished nickel plumbing fixtures for a classic and timeless look. Polished nickel will never go out of style. It's warmer than chrome but not as harsh as black or trendy like gold.
Another thing that we changed was the mirrors. Going from a square shape to
round mirrors was an excellent choice; they work so well and help bring balance and light and increase the space of the bathroom. Also, experts say the round shape contributes to peacefulness and calmness, which went well with the mood we were going after.

Bathroom Countertop
We switched from classical and outdated granite to modern, bright quartz. This quartz has beautiful white and gray veining. The combination of these two colors was just on point. It’s a modern, unique, and clean look. Not only does quartz looks gorgeous, but it’s a great material choice for a bathroom since it is moisture-resistant and a strong material that will last for many years to come.
Updating your countertop is a must if you plan to remodel your bathroom. Ask your contractor and designer what options are the best for your space.

Flooring
We swapped out the beige ceramic floor tile for a more subdued light gray porcelain tile. It has a hand-crafted look and has enough warmth in it that it won't be going out of style anytime soon. The tiles are a large rectangular size, and with minimal grout lines it has a more seamless appearance.
It makes a huge difference, doesn’t it?

shower and tub
In this space we eliminated the drop-in jacuzzi tub for a stand alone tub. This allowed us to expand the footprint of the shower. We added a small corner bench as well as a wall niche for storage. The frameless glass, two shower heads, including one hand-held give this space a luxurious hotel-like vibe.
The classic white and gray marble-like shower tile coordinates beautifully with the floor tile. We chose a similar accent tile for the shower niche and floor.
Designer tip: take the shower tile all the way to the ceiling. Notice the difference it makes in the after photo.

The new soaking tub is luxurious, comfortable, and chic. It's the perfect spot to relax and unwind.

Décor
A project is not complete without adding some accent décor. A few accessories I like in a bathroom include a plant or two, candles, and rattan baskets.
My clients love the beach, so this piece of art reminds them of their favorite vacation spot, and the soft colors add to the serenity of this space.
