Welcome to my classic Christmas front porch! When we were building our house, we knew we wanted a generously sized front porch. This is one of my favorite architectural elements of our home.
While I love a neutral Christmas color scheme on the inside, I love to add red on the outside.
We usually have the sitting area to one side of the porch, but I decided to recreate that around the front door for Christmas. It makes a cozy seating area with the lit garland. These black and white striped pillows coordinate so well with the rug.
This buffalo plaid rug is great for layering! After Halloween it was a bit muddy from all of the trick-or-treaters, but since it is machine washable I was able to throw it in the wash and hang it out to dry. Good as new.
The Hello doormat layered with the black and white underneath works year round with any season.
For the garland, I use 2 faux pre-lit garlands, and I’ve had them for the longest time. Then I add one 9’ fresh garland from Trader Joe’s on top of that for a fuller look. I added some ornaments and faux berry stems. Done! The garland is held up by 3 small nails with one in each corner and the other in the center.
I buy a fresh wreath every year for my front door by a talented group of young women who use the money to go to a girls’ camp over the summer. Love that idea! This year they also made bows. How cute is that red and white gingham?
The bells were purchased from Kirklands. Love these hanging from the wreath, and such an easy look to pull together.
You are welcome to come join me for good conversation and hot chocolate on my classic Christmas front porch anytime!
