Hi and welcome if you are new! This is my first time participating in the One Room Challenge, and I am so excited!  Over the next 8 weeks I will complete a tween girl bedroom makeover for my daughter. 

The One Room Challenge is all about fun, creativity, and supporting each other in finishing a room transformation. Let us begin!

My youngest daughter turned 11 years old this year, and she has grown out of the pink and purple girly style room. Crazy how time flies! She was so excited when I announced to her I’d be making over her room in the next 8 weeks, so we started planning!

TWEEN GIRL BEDROOM MAKEOVER INSPIRATION

A few months ago my daughter came to me with this sheet of sticker art and said she liked the colors and would like to use for her room one day. Perfect!

Based on that I was able to create an inspiration board for her room, pick out paint colors and do a little shopping online. Then we made of list of tasks that need to take place before we can actually implement the design.

First we’ll de-clutter and organize and donate anything we’re not using. We are keeping most of the bigger furnishings such as her bed, dresser and nightstand. Currently she has a small bookcase, but I’m thinking of doing a built-in one that uses more vertical space. She loves to read and has quite the collection of books. A reading chair will also be a nice touch.

11 Magnolia Lane

We are definitely going with white bedding and mint colored walls. Love this beautiful tween bedroom from 11 Magnolia Lane.

I would love to create an accent wall of some kind. We talked about using wall decals, and she likes the one of the white tree in the mood board. She is a gymnast and wants to incorporate some art that is reflective of her talent as well.
