Today I’m sharing five ways to update your front porch for fall. Fall is the perfect time to refresh the porch with temperatures being cooler and the holidays approaching.
If you know me, you know I like to keep my decor on the simple side. These photos include some Halloween decorations too since we’re only a day away.
First, give your front door a fresh coat of paint. Mine was pretty scuffed and a bit faded, so I just gave it one coat of the existing color. It took all of about 30 minutes including the taping.
This is the paint I used. The color is Tricorn Black. It goes on smoothly, and since my front door is covered by our porch, it’s protected from the elements. Originally, I bought this when I painted my door on the inside, but it works for outside as well.
2. Add a fall wreath, basket of flowers or any type of door accessory. I found this at Homegoods last year, and it has held up well so I reused it. I love the neutral colors and the textures.
3. Add a colorful or seasonal doormat or rug. I love black and white stripes, but when I saw this black and white buffalo checked rug I knew I had to have it. You can find it here. I love the purple mums with the black and white pattern. Perfect for Halloween decor too!
4. Flowers, plants or some type of greenery will brighten any porch! I love mums this time of year and decided to go with purple and white mums. I also planted a few pansies in my pots for an additional layer of color.
5. PUMPKINS, of course! Pumpkins are a cheap and easy way to add a burst of color. I usually just pick up a few from my local grocer. Then they’ll get carved a day or two before Halloween.
There you have it! Five easy and simple ways to update your front porch for fall. You also get a glimpse of the Halloween decorations too!
Thanks for visiting, and Happy Halloween!
